Meet Our Team

Dr. Rod Pierson, Veterinarian

Is a graduate of the college of veterinary medicine at Michigan State University and has been practicing in Davison since 1966. He has four adult children and twenty seven grandchildren & great grandchildren.   He grew up on a dairy farm in Goodrich.  Dr Pierson’s special interests are internal medicine, managing geriatric patients, and dermatology, including the management of allergy patients. He especially enjoys long term relationships with clients and has worked with four generations of several local families and considers them among his friends.  In his spare time enjoys gardening and spending time with his family.  Over the years Dr. Pierson has owned many animal species from farm animals to cats and dogs.  He currently has a 10 year old dog named Dutchess.

Dr. Angela Lusty, Veterinarian

Is a 2012 graduate of the College of Veterinary Medicine at Michigan State University. She grew up on a small farm in Goodrich & now resides with her husband and two children.  Her special interests include the use of preventative medicine to increase the lifespan of pets, and managing geriatric pets. Dr. Lusty is currently helping the Michigan Veterinary Medical Association on a program that helps train new graduating veterinarians in leadership and communication skills. In her free time Dr. Lusty plays the piano and organ for the choir at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Davison. She also enjoys running and riding her horse.  Dr. Lusty has two dogs named Finnegan & Tilly.

Sarah Cook, Veterinary Nurse

Graduated from Baker College in 2013 and earned her Associates of Applied Science degree. She is licensed by the State of Michigan and Nationally. She started working here as a part of the team in 2013. Her special interest are client education and lab work. Outside of work she enjoys being outdoors, 4-wheeling and reading. She has a mix of furry, feathered, & scaled pets but is still wanting more four legged friends!

Karen Holloway, Veterinary Nurse

Started working at Pierson Pet Hospital in 2014 and has been a Licensed Veterinary Technician since 2007. Karen is married with 3 children and has 1 grandson. She also has 3 dogs and 2 cats that are always keeping her busy. In her spare time she also is a hairdresser, likes to spend time with family, camping, shopping, going for walks, and doing crafts.

Shelley Shollack, Veterinary Nurse

Started at Pierson Pet Hospital in 1993. She is a 1990 graduate of the veterinary technology program at Michigan State University.  She is licensed by the State of Michigan and Nationally.  At work she has a special interest in anesthesia and pain management. Outside of work, she enjoys playing agility with her dogs, gardening, reading, quilting, playing piano and handbells. She is married to Pete and together they have 3 dogs, Rudy, Aggie, & Max.

Andrea Goniwiecha, Veterinary Nurse

She lives in Millington on a 10 acre farm shared with her significant other and two dogs, a husky and a bulldog mix, horses, cows, chickens, and two cats.  Her hobbies are trail riding and sorting cattle on her horses, gardening, and camping.  She graduated from Macomb's Veterinary Technician program in 2016 and has since gained experience working in emergency and critical care, general practice, and some large animal medicine.  Her passion is Veterinary medicine and making sure every pet gets treated as if they were her own.

Korie Dobson, Medicine Manager, LVT

Graduated from Baker College in 2013 with an associates degree in Veterinary Technology, she is licensed by the State of Michigan and Nationally, with a background in Veterinary clinic management.  She strives to promote quality patient care, efficiency within the team, personal growth, and collaboration.  She enjoys the outdoors, fishing, four wheeling, and hiking.  She has a variety of animals at home from dogs, cats, turtles, rabbits, & ducks.

Erin Missentzis, Veterinary Assistant 

Has been working at Pierson Pet Hospital since 2014. She was certified as a Dental Technician in 2007, and loves making those teeth sparkle. She is married and together they have a small funny farm in Davison. She enjoys being outdoors, horseback riding with friends, and trying to be crafty.

Juliette Thiel, Veterinary Assistant

Has been working as a veterinary assistant at Pierson Pet Hospital since 1999. She graduated from Michigan State University in 1995 with a degree in Zoology. Juliette and her husband currently share their home with a number of furry friends, but there is always room for "just one more".

Aleah Bartels, Veterinary Assistant

Graduated from Davison High School in 2016 & participated in training to become an approved Veterinary Assistant in 2020.  In her free time she likes to read & spend time with her family.  At home she has two shitzu's, Loki & Ivy and two cats, Rouge & Binx and two gerbils, Ace & Otis.  In the future she hopes to continue her education and become a Veterinary Technician.

Delanie Cline, Veterinary Assistant

She gained interest in the field after doing a high school internship at a Veterinary clinic and worked for them after graduating.  She  joined the Pierson Pet Hospital team in July 2021 and loves it!  She has a cat named Squash and a ferret named Scarlett.  She has two step daughters and just recently had a baby girl. 


Kerri Flores, Practice Manager

Graduated from Powers Catholic High School in 1988.  She grew up on an 86 acre farm in Davison and has had a passion for animals her entire life.  When she was little she would rescue wild animals that were injured for her father to "fix" and catch wild kittens to find them a home.  She has three children and three grandchildren.  In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family and being outdoors.  She has two cattle dogs, Kihya & Kali.

Jyl Echols, Assistant Manager

Grew up in Davison and graduated from Davison High School in 1995. She started as part of the Client Services team in 2000 and worked her way up to the Assistant Manager at Pierson Pet Hospital.  She enjoys working on computers, creating new projects and loves visiting and taking care of our clients and their pets. Outside of work she and her husband enjoy working in ministry at her church. She also has two wonderful children and two dogs named Bella & Zola that keep them busy in their spare time.

Jessica Simmons, Client Service

She joined the Pierson Pet Hospital team in April 2021 and has been in the Veterinary field for 5 years.  She currently resides in Columbiaville where she lives on the lake with her significant other, 4 children, and 4 pets.  In her spare time she loves to read & go camping.  Her passion is client education and customer service.


Emiley Robinson, Client Service

She joined the Pierson Pet Hospital team in December 2020 and has been in the Veterinary field for 3 years.  She is very passionate about animals and likes to help them any way she can.  When she's not at work taking care of fur babies, she is at home taking care of her son.  She has a dog and eventually wants more.  In her free time she enjoys being outside, up north, or somewhere warm.  She loves to travel and would like to say she has traveled all the states one day.


Nichole Kirk, Client Service

She joined the Pierson Pet Hospital team in March 2021.  She has wanted to work at a Veterinary hospital since she was little & looks forward to seeing all the animals everyday, especially when they leave wagging their tails & happy.


Kim Lightfoot, Client Service

She joined the Pierson Pet Hospital team in April 2021 and has been in the field for a year and a half. She and her husband have several fur babies and always want more!  She has three children and three grandchildren.  In her spare time she enjoys riding quads, reading, and visiting with family and friends.


Dee Fields, Head Groomer

Is a resident of Burton, MI. She is a grandmother of 5 and has been grooming for over 25yrs. She loves animals and enjoys working with all dogs and cats all shapes and sizes.

Missy Rhodes, Associate Groomer

She joined Pierson Pet Hospital in 2019.  She has been grooming for over 10 years and has been working with animals most of her life. She is academy certified for cats and dogs, she utilizes her extensive knowledge of products and gentle techniques to find what works best for each pet.  She has a passion for cat grooming and grooming rehabilitation for difficult pets and situations.

Gracyn Cole, Kennel Assistant

She is a Davison High School graduate and joined the Pierson Pet Hospital team in August 2020.  She loves taking care of the animals and treating them like family.  She has two dogs named Moose and Beemer and she enjoys taking them to the park in her free time.

Emma Cadle, Kennel Assistant

She is a high school graduate and joined the Pierson Pet Hospital team in January 2021.  She is a huge animal lover and loves her job.  She enjoys taking walks with her little sister & two dogs, Charlie is a great dane and Thomas, her golden retriever.  She loves spending time with her family and friends.


Brynn Ware, Kennel Assistant

She is a senior at Davison High School and joined the Pierson Pet Hospital team in July 2021.  She is interested in going into Veterinary Medicine at Michigan State University.  When she's not providing awesome care for pets and clients, she enjoys playing with her dog Harley, doing her nails, and hanging out with her boyfriend.


Rachel Dodd, Kennel Assistant

She joined the Pierson Pet Hospital in July 2021 and has been in the field for 2 years.  She truly enjoys getting to know and care for all of the pets she works with.  In her spare time she enjoys her shiba inu, Toshi and makes projects out of epoxy resin.
