Dr. Rod Pierson, Veterinarian

Is a graduate of the college of veterinary medicine at Michigan State University and has been practicing in Davison since 1966. He and his wife Darlene have four adult children and eighteen + grandchildren. They reside on thirty acres of the family farm in Goodrich. Dr Pierson’s special interests are internal medicine, managing geriatric patients, and dermatology, including the management of allergy patients. He especially enjoys long term relationships with clients and has worked with four generations of several local families and considers them among his friends.

Dr. Angela Lusty, Veterinarian

Is a 2012 graduate of the College of Veterinary Medicine at Michigan State University.  She grew up on a small farm in Goodrich, where she now lives with her horse (Charity), her cat (Kudos), and her dog (Tilly). Her special interests include the use of preventative medicine to increase the lifespan of pets, and managing geriatric pets.  Dr. Lusty is currently helping the Michigan Veterinary Medical Association on a program that helps train new graduating veterinarians in leadership and communication skills.  In her free time Dr. Lusty plays the piano and organ for the choir at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Davison.  She also enjoys running and riding her horse.

Dr. Ken Ahrens, Veterinarian 

Dr. Ahrens graduated from Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1985 and has practiced general companion animal medicine since. He and his wife Judy, together have 6 children, the youngest, Madison is a 2018 graduate of Clio High School. At home there are 6 cats and 2 dogs, they also enjoy their 3 grandchildren. Dr. Ahrens enjoys soft tissue and orthopedic surgery as well as general medicine and preventative care. Dr. Ahrens believes that establishing long term relationships with clients and patients brings gratitude to daily practice. “As veterinarians, we are an integral part of the lives of families as they consider their pets family members more than ever before.” Away from practice, Dr. Ahrens enjoys his newest hobby of keeping honeybees and spending time with his family and gardening.

Sarah Cook, Technician

Graduated from Baker College in 2013 and earned her Associates of Applied Science degree. She is licensed by the State of Michigan and Nationally. She started working here as a part of the team in 2013. Her special interest are client education and labwork. Outside of work she enjoys being outdoors,            4-wheeling and reading. She has 2 dogs, 2 cat, 2 turtles and 2 ducks, but is still wanting more four legged friends!

Andrea Dennis, Technician

Started working at Pierson Pet Hospital in 2012 as a part of our boarding staff. She later attended Baker College where she obtained her degree in Associates of Applied Science. Andrea is a Licensed Veterinary Technician in the State of Michigan and Nationally. She is very passionate about animals and caring for them. She has 3 cats and has had many kinds of pets growing up. In her free time, she enjoys kayaking, traveling, hiking, going to baseball games and concerts.

Karen Holloway, Technician

Started working at Pierson Pet Hospital in 2014 and has been a Licensed Veterinary Technician since 2007. Karen is married with 3 children and has 1 grandson. She also has 3 dogs and 2 cats that are always keeping her busy. In her spare time she also is a hairdresser, likes to spend time with family, camping, shopping and going for walks.

Shelley Shollack, Technician

Started at Pierson Pet Hospital in 1993. She is a 1990 graduate of the veterinary technology program at Michigan State University and passed the state and national board exams to become licensed. At work she has a special interest in anesthesia and pain management. Outside of work, she enjoys playing agility with her dogs, gardening, reading, quilting, playing piano and handbells. She is married to Pete and together they have 2 dogs, "Rudy" and  "Aggie".

Erin Missentzis, Assistant Technician/Client Service

Has been working at Pierson Pet Hospital since 2014. She was certified as a Dental Technician in 2007, and loves making those teeth sparkle. She is married and together they have a small funny farm in Davison. She enjoys being outdoors, horseback riding with friends, and trying to be crafty.

Juliette Thiel, Assistant Technician

Has been working as a veterinary assistant at Pierson Pet Hospital since 1999. She graduated from Michigan State University in 1995 with a degree in Zoology. Juliette and her husband currently share their home with a number of furry friends, but there is always room for "just one more".

Jyl Echols, Client Service

Grew up in Davison and graduated from Davison High School in 1995. She has worked in Client Services at Pierson Pet Hospital since 2000. She enjoys working on computers, creating new projects and loves visiting and taking care of our clients and their pets. Outside of work she and her husband enjoy working at church in the helps ministry. She also has two wonderful children that keeps them busy in their spare time.

Jodie Wineman, Client Service

Joined the Pierson Pet Hospital team in 2008. She's happily married to her high school sweetheart for over 20 years. They have two beautiful daughters and a grandson. They also have two rambunctious labs, Jax and Gemma. Life is never a dull moment with these two trouble makers! Jodie enjoys every aspect of client relations, right down to their furry family members.

Megan Martin, Client Service

Has worked here since 2008, but took a small break and came back in 2014. She has always been an animal lover and enjoys working with clients and their fur babies. She is a UofM graduate, a mother of a little boy, and happily married. She has a lab named, Nala, that keeps them busy and on their toes.
